Description of Math 2 Page:
The purpose of this Math 2 page is to provide a time portal back into my sophomore math days, and to be a source of inspiration for future equations that might need solving.
As a sophomore math looks like a familiar thing that seems to, at this point, only confuse me when numbers aren't involved.
Some of the skills I've exercised in Math class, such as group work, will help me get along with my co-workers in the future which is essential to preventing a hostile work environment.

Similarity:
This similarity unit was all about angles, scale factors and lots of cross multiplying. We incorporated group work and collaborating to solve polygon-related problems and equations.

Probability:
This probability unit was about... probability! Everything from finding patterns, to predicting turn outs with an emphasis on dice rolls and card games... is it really a game of chance?

Casino Night Project:
This was the annual math project for this year. For our probability unit we hosted a casino in our school. Parents and students came in a played [free] casino inspired games, some well known and others student-made.
We used probability to create games in the houses favor as well as in inadequate pay outs (e.g. roulette; 1/38 chance - 1/35 pay out). We calculated their chances of winning and the house's odds of "losing money".

Quadratics:
This quadratics unit was about algebra, PEMDAS (Parenthesis Exponents Multiplications Division Addition Subtraction), distributing and lots of binomials.

Math 2 Reflection:
After taking this math class sophomore year I've taken away so much. My group work and patience has improved and my growth mindset has been reinforced. I took away the knowledge of some new math concepts. I won't lie, it wasn't all easy, but I think that that was the point. It challenged your thinking and help develop our sense of figuring things out for ourselves and relying on your group members and yourself.
This year was fun, like when we did our Casino project, it was challenging, like during the similarity unit when we had to figure out the similarity rubric questions, but really it was beneficial. This class made me question my process and forced me to work with my group instead of for my group. This class was so enjoyable and overall, pleasant to attend.
